Serengeti Breweries Ltd SBL operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of 17. It is an integrated demand/supply business with 2 operational breweries in Dar and Mwanza, and a third one being built in Moshi, which is situated in the northern part of the country near the Kenyan border. SBL’s flagship brand is Premium Serengeti lager, which accounts for 85 of SBL sales volumes. The other beer brands are Uhuru and Kick. In addition SBL produces and markets Vita-Malt.

SBL’s 2 fully operational breweries in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza have a combined capacity of 1 m Hls. The 3rd brewery with a capacity of 0.5m Hls is under construction in Moshi and is expected to be ready for operations in H2 of F11.

Purpose of the role
The head of procurement is responsible for all Procurement spend within Serengeti Breweries Limited.The postholder is expected to deliver significant profit growth and added value to the business through professional Procurement practices, strategic sourcing and development of the current supply base whilst maintaining existing service and quality parameters. This will require first-hand knowledge and experience in comprehensive category management and implementation of Supplier Performance Management systems.

In addition to owning and managing the Procurement strategy within SBL the postholder will also be expected to carry out additional responsiblities for the EABL group procurement function.
Key Accountabilities
� To develop and deliver the ongoing Procurement strategy for the Group
� Deliver ongoing savings on total spend net of inflation
� To maintain and improve current quality and service levels to all stakeholders within the Group
� To manage, develop and coach all reports to build a high performing team
� To develop a Supply base capable of supporting the Group’s growth agenda
Qualifications and Experience Required:
� Minimum 10 years Procurement experience in a blue-chip FMCG environment.
� Excellent knowledge of world-class procurement systems, processes and practices.
� Excellent negotiation and communication skills with significant evidence of savings and value delivery.
� Sound commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to the wider business process outside immediate functional responsibilities.
� Proven track record of delivery in challenging business environments.
� Ability to engage and influence a wide range of senior stakeholders.
